Installation 2026

8 boxes filled with reversal film slides and hundreds more underwater photographs are the basis of this exhibition. Jannika Lösche intertwines the pictures that her grandfather, who dived as a hobby, took during two trips to the Red Sea and the Maldives with her own artistic practice. The work brings together a sound installation with the photographs. The pictures interweave with the sound composition, which fills the exhibition space. They show corals, fish and underwater worlds in several shapes and colours. They make up a personal archive while showing a relevance beyond that as most of the presented landscapes do not exist anymore or are endangered.
The work was produced as a diploma project at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and was presented at Moltkereiwerkstatt Cologne from 06.02. – 22.02.2026.
